You know…I really don’t see what all the fuss is about. About the only “cool” points are the search feature and the long inactivity period. Other than that, webmail is webmail is webmail. And it’s not even organized webmail (not categorizing the email, but the actual functionality of the site itself kinda sucks).
I think gmail will make a nice replacement for my current yahoo sign-up-spam-box account.

Not organized? I think it’s one of the best organized webmails I’ve ever seen. Dreadfully simple, fast loading and advacned filters and searching.
Makes for good personal email if you ask me.

I’m not referring to the organization of messages themselves. I’m actually talking about the rest of the site. Like preferences, options, etc. Tell me, when I want to edit my settings, why would I want it opening in a new window? Why don’t options pages have the same format as the mail pages? Why does the contacts management page have to popup in a new window? Why oh WHY the FRAMES???

The only reason the one Account Settings doesn’t fit in with the GMail design is because that is you global Google account settings, not just GMail. Though the other popups annoy me, but a small price to pay.
And it doesn’t use frames
There is only one frame that spans 100% height and 100% width, everything else is Javascript powered.
