Use for vBulletin
I’ve got an extra vBulletin license hanging around and I need a use for it. Any idea’s?
- Programming
- Design
- Computers
Those are the things that would be the best, but I can’t think of an original topic that fits into any of them.
If you have any idea’s, let me know!

Hmmm….after reading your last entry, I would have to vote for practical jokes.

Maybe all of the above topics in one.
Are you still working on forum software? Or are you on a different project now?

We’re still working on it, but I still want a use for my vB
Multi-topic boads don’t tend to do so well…

wmf was multi-topic and that did alright, but yeah I agree I prefer specialty topics.
In terms of profitability I would say web hosting rates at the top, computers are not bad, I would say mediocre, then design. Not too sure about programming, that sounds like a high maintenance forum topic.
Maybe a vb admin forum, that sure is one topic you know a lot about, would be a good platform to launch your vb related software if you plan on still doing that.

I meant topics in such a broad range. Programming and design are in the same “spectrum”, but adding computers in there would just widen it.
I don’t want to open up a programming or design forum, IMDT has that covered. vB fan site is done too, and one is enough IMO.
Grrr.

I have just one more forum that I want to start, then Im calling it a day as far as forums are concerned. And it will be on search engines. A computer forum is a good choice, cant have enough of them. Other ideas, gaming, although that could be a major PITA to manage and there are so many out there already.
Other ideas, movies, and digital cameras, I had plans to start a digital camera forum one day, registered digicamforum.com but I am undecided on that, think I may give it a miss.
Other ideas, DVD burners/duplication, that is always a specialty, a site specialising in security and getting rid of viruses from computers would be relatively easy to grow very big, but I have stayed away from that at computerforum, cause it could become too hard to manage.

I reckon I post the longest replies around here :p

The problem is, I don’t want to start a site without knowing much about the subject. Like a digital media forum would be cool, but I don’t know the first thing about any of that stuff. Same with security.

a specialised php/mysql forum

I want to stay away from those things, IMDT has it covered. At least until Tim fires me
