Movie — Saw

I just watched the new Saw movie… Wow. If you’ve ever seen the movie Se7en, it’s kinda like that. Except, IMO, it’s a lot worse. I think I can actually say it’s terrible. Not in the sense of a bad movie, but whoever wrote it must have had very sick in the mind.

Basically, it’s about some sicko that takes people that don’t appreciate their lives for whatever reason (for example, a drug addict) and puts them into really bad circumstances. I’ll tell you one part, to make a point (it’s a small clip of the movie, but if you don’t want to know about it then stop reading).

He gets a guy who tried to slit his wrists and puts him in a room surrounded by barbed wire. He said that there was a door outside that would lock shut in a couple hours, and if he really wanted to live, then he’d have to cut himself some more. The guy tried to struggle through the barbed wire, and he was found dead with his flesh so ripped apart that stomach acid was found on the ground.

I think it was a good movie. Horrifying… Even I think it’s terrible, but I think it’s a good idea. Hard to explain it as a good movie but a bad movie at the same time…

Anyway, if you’ve got a weak stomach for that kind of thing, or can’t stand to see people helpless… Then do not see this movie.

Apparently the movie was made by two recent film school graduates from Melbourne Australia. This is what I read on one site.
“It’s unbelievable,” said writer Leigh Whannell, who also stars in the film. “We were just aiming to make a film. We didn’t really expect people to actually go and see it.”

The pair wrote the script believing they would probably have to produce the film themselves on a shoestring, using their friends as cast and crew, and designed the film’s plot around their limited budget. The original plan was to shoot the entire film in one room.

“The idea of having two guys stuck in one room was definitely because of budgetary constraints,” said co-writer and director James Wan. “We were like, ‘what’s the cheapest thing we can do?’ ”

Most of the film is set in a decrepit bathroom, where two men wake up chained to the wall and discover they are victims of a serial killer’s twisted game.
Unable to get funding in Australia, the pair took their script and a one-scene DVD they made with their own $7000 and headed to America. There it was picked up by Evolution Entertainment, which not only gave them a $US1million ($A1.4 million) budget to produce the film but allowed Whannell to appear in the feature and Wan to direct it.”

    1. Very Bad Acting.
    2. The main guy cuts his leg off and does not pass out ? lol ok
And don;t tell me he can stop the blood gushing from his leg with a t-shirt
    3. The villan = superman , laying on the stomach for 6 hours on the floor without moving or breathing… yea i believe that.

i have 2 disagree with you on a few things johndalton. for one, i didnt think that the acting was that bad, second of all, even though its possible 2 pass out from the pain, people can withstand pain more then others. if u havent cut off your leg then you dont know how bad it feels. 3rd of all, i can breath fine without looking like im breathing at all. But i do agree with the fact that you cant stop the blood from gushing out of a cut off leg with a fucking shirt
